Alluzience: ready-to-use botulinum toxin

A liquid botulinum toxin type A preparation supplied ready to use, removing the reconstitution step but not the unit-system problem.

Alluzience is a botulinum toxin type A preparation supplied in the UK as a solution for injection, with potency expressed in Speywood units per millilitre.

What is different about it

Every other preparation described in this section arrives as a lyophilised powder that must be reconstituted before use. Alluzience does not: it is supplied as a liquid, ready to use.

That removes a step where variation enters. Reconstitution introduces choices — diluent, volume, technique — and choices introduce inconsistency between practitioners and between sessions. A ready-to-use solution has a concentration fixed by the manufacturer.

It does not remove the unit problem. Potency is still expressed in Speywood units, and those units remain non-interchangeable with the units of other preparations.

Storage and handling

Specified by the manufacturer. A liquid formulation has its own storage and shelf-life conditions that differ from a powder, and they are in the SmPC rather than on this page.

Dose

Set by the manufacturer and published in the Summary of Product Characteristics, linked below.

This page is a reference note. It carries no dose, no injection points and no dilution figures: those are set by the manufacturer and published in the Summary of Product Characteristics, which is linked below. This site sells nothing and is not a clinic.
